New Endowment Supports the Arts at Huntington North

Trent & Melissa Wolfe Endowment Provides Support to Huntington North Art Department
Trent & Melissa WolfeThe old saying 'it takes a village' comes to mind while reflecting on last Monday's board meeting.  Huntington County Community Foundation Executive Director Matt Ditzler steps up to the podium to announce the exciting news to the board.

Matt highlights recent partnerships and achievements with HCCSC including early childhood development, bonds, grants, endowments and scholarships.

The Community Foundation has played a pivotal role in the development of early childhood development with KinderCamp, which has invested over $75,000 through the United Way to help prepare incoming students for Kindergarten and beyond.  The Early Childhood Coalition is another endeavor the Community Foundation is working on. "John and his team have been super instrumental in getting that started and have been essential partners and we really appreciate all the efforts that they have made." states Ditzler.

The Community Foundation has provided over $100,000 in school and classroom grants since 2006 and continues to provide opportunities.  The board approves over $8,000 in grants during Monday's meeting.  Ditzler states that the Community Foundation also provided over $65,000 in the development of the Learning Center.

The Community Foundation holds several funds through Endowments and Scholarships that continue to provide support for students in the school corporation.  "Tonight I would like to highlight the newest endowment that we have which is the Huntington North Art Department Endowment." states Ditzler.

"When I was a student here in the early 2000's I took as many art classes as my schedule could accommodate and under the leadership of Mr. Wright, Mrs. Kaylor, and Mrs. Coons they helped give me the confidence to become an artist." states Melissa Wolfe.  The endowment serves as a continuous Thank You and will provide funds to the Huntington North Art Department to purchase supplies every year.

"What a great way to give back! Your generous donation will impact students today and generations to come." states Superintendent John Trout. We are blessed to have wonderful people, like Trent and Melissa, in our community that provide support as it truly 'takes a village' when investing into our future, the youth of Huntington.

Thank you to the Huntington County Community Foundation, Matt Ditzler and the Wolfe Family for being a beacon of support for our school corporation.
