HNHS Senior Charlie Agnew was recently named ‘Youth of the Year’ by the Parkview Boys and Girls Club. He has also received accolades in football and wrestling. Charlie Agnew is our Student Spotlight for this month. Charlie is a senior at Huntington North High School and will be graduating in June.

Charlie was recently named ‘Youth of the Year’ by the Parkview Boys and Girls Club. Describing his experience there, he explained, “I have worked at the Boys and Girls Club for over 3 years now and have attended the Club since I was 5 years old.”

“We are very proud of the example that Charlie has set as a Viking in the area of servant leadership. He is a member of our football and wrestling programs, and is a respected member of our student body. For him to invest in the lives of young people in our community and be recognized for that is a well-deserved honor,” commented Principal Dr. Russ Degitz, Huntington North High School.

Charlie has been involved in football and wrestling during his time at HNHS, earning numerous accolades. In football, he was First Team All-Conference Line in 2017, and Second Team All-Conference in 2018. In wrestling, he has earned the titles of Sectional, Regional, and Semi-state Champion, and in 2018 he was All-State.

Charlie said that his favorite memory from his time here at HCCSC happened just this year. “I made it to the State tournament for Wrestling, and all of the love and support from everyone in the community and school was such an amazing feeling; I will never, EVER forget it.” His advice for incoming high school students is to “just enjoy every moment you can, and learn from your mistakes. It goes by so fast, so enjoy the little things.” He added, “Thank you, HCCSC, for being such a great place for me!”

After high school Charlie plans to attend Ball State University, where he will study Physical Therapy and Business.
